Hot Tub- Operating Instruction

Check the drain valve is off by turning before filling with water.

The hot tub lid MUST be removed before lighting the fire and must be attended at all times during operation.

It may take several hours for your tub to get up to a comfortable temperature.

Fill the hot tub with the water via hose, covering the boiler (fire box) by at least 2cm. Insuffcient water may cause damage to the burner.

Open hatch door on the side of the tub and pull out the ash pan.

Place kindling or dry sticks and fire lighters into the hatch.

Do not proceed until tub is filled with water. Remove tub lid before lighting fire.​

Light the fire lighter.

Once the fire starts to catch, slide the ash pan back in and close the door.     The door must remain closed during use.

Rotate the damper lid to allow air into the unit as needed to increase the airflow, especially when establishing the fire. This will increase the burn rate of the wood.

Regularly add dry wood through the large main tube on the top of the burner to maintain a good fire. You will need to remove the damper lid to do this.   

Metal parts will get hot, take care.

Stir the water with your hand to help heat the water more rapidly.

Once your tub has reached approximately 30'C we recommend
dampening your fire down to stop the hot tub from overheating.

Do this by adjusting the rotation on the damper lid to a closed position.

Do not open the side hatch when the fire is in use, only open to remove ashes once the fires has gone completely out and the embers have cooled.

We recommend changing the water every 2-3 days.

If you stay 2 nights at the A-frame the hot tub should be filled once.
