Kungla’s 4-hour fly fishing lessons, set on the stunning and secluded private lakes, offer the perfect introduction to this timeless pastime. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, each session is designed to immerse you in the serenity of nature while building your confidence and technique.
These private lakes provide the ideal environment for learning the art of fly fishing. With patience and experience, our guide Chris will lead you through every step, sharing practical tips and expert knowledge so you can master the rhythm and finesse of casting. The lessons are structured to give plenty of hands-on practice, opportunities to ask questions, and time to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

During the four-hour lesson, participants will:

Understand how to read the water and recognise aquatic life.

Gain insight into responsible fishing practices, ensuring enjoyment while respecting the local ecosystem and fellow anglers.
Kungla’s lakes are home to a rich variety of wildlife, including platypus, rakali and abundant birdlife, making the experience both educational and memorable. Depending on participants’ progress and the weather, Chris may also introduce skills for river fishing at Kallarroo.

Group details & catering:
The fly fishing lesson is designed for a maximum of two adults (ideal for couples or friends), but children are welcome to join- please let us know the ages when booking so we can prepare accordingly. A hearty lunch is provided as part of the experience; please advise of any dietary requirements at the time of booking.

What to bring:

Comfortable, dull-coloured clothing, including long pants.

Gumboots (you’ll be standing at the water’s edge).

Raincoat, if the weather requires.

Hat and polarised sunglasses (excellent for spotting fish through the water).

Sunscreen and insect repellent in warmer months.

Water.
Fly rods and general equipment are provided- just bring your enthusiasm and a spirit of adventure.
